Memorial Day 2010

Bellevue Memorial Park will pay tribute to our country’s veterans once again this year, honoring them at the annual Memorial Day Services and Celebration which will take place on Monday, May 31st, 2010, in the park’s “Memorial” Veterans Section. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am in the Bellevue Mausoleum Chapel, followed by the Memorial Day Celebration at 10:00am. Joining with Bellevue to honor our Veterans will be the Ontario-Chaffey Community Show Band, under the direction of Jack Mercer, local community Veterans and Service Organizations, along with Ontario City Officials and special guest speakers.

As a community service, local Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops will be placing flags and crosses on all veteran’s graves the Saturday prior to the Memorial Day Celebration, a tradition which they undertake each year. The Scouts place an American flag on each veteran’s grave, some of which date back as far as the Civil War, in remembrance of those who died for our freedoms.

Please make a note on your calendar to join us for this traditional Memorial Day Service which will include patriotic music, uplifting messages, a fly over by the Ontario Police Department, and gun salute.

The Board of Trustees, General Manager, staff, and grounds crew would like to thank all of the groups and organizations who participate in the program each year, as well as the community for their support in honoring our nation’s veterans.
