The following questions and answers may assist you in learning and understanding more about decision-making, simplify some of the processes involved when making final arrangements, and help you to be an educated consumer.

What is “Endowment Care?”
Endowment Care is the general care, maintenance, and embellishment of the cemetery provided at reasonable intervals within the limits of the income from the Endowment Care Fund. It includes such things as the planting, cutting, watering and care of the lawns, trees, and shrubs, cleaning and upkeep of buildings, and the maintenance of proper records, utilities, walls, roadways and walks. All maintenance is at the discretion of the cemetery authority and subject to the cemetery rules and regulations.

What is an “Endowment Care Fund?”
The Endowment Care Fund is a trust fund created by an irrevocable trust agreement, and governed by state law, which holds deposits made by purchaser of memorial property. Contributions to an Endowment Care Fund are not part of the purchase price of the property. These deposits, accumulated together, form the Endowment Care Fund, and the interest on these funds provides for the general care, maintenance a, and embellishment of the cemetery. Trustees administer the Endowment Care Fund. The investment of the funds is prescribed in law and supervised the State.

Does Bellevue Memorial Park have a mortuary or crematorium on-site?
No. Although we sell cremation urns and a variety of cremation property, we do not operate a mortuary or crematory. We do work directly with the mortuary or crematory of your choice when coordinating services in the cemetery, and are happy to give you referrals to our local mortuaries.

Can I pre-purchase my property?
Yes. In fact, pre-purchasing will save you money by purchasing now instead of at tomorrow’s higher rates. With inflation and the costs of goods and services constantly rising, you are “locking in” at today's prices. It will also give you peace of mind, knowing you have made the necessary arrangements now so that your loved ones are not left with these often difficult decisions in the future. Pre-arranging also guarantees that your wishes are met, and eases the emotional burden on your family later.

Do I get to choose my own location? And…what about the rest of my family?

Yes, you can choose the location that you want, and by pre-purchasing you are guaranteed that location. By purchasing before the time of need, not only can you choose your exact location, but it is an opportunity to consider other family members. Choosing a location which has several properties side by side is a comfort to many families and gives them peace of mind knowing they will be together.

I don't think I can afford to “pre-purchase.” Do I have to pay for everything all at one time?

No. Bellevue Memorial Park offers a variety of payment plans to meet your needs. One of those plans is to pay in full for your pre-need arrangements, or you may opt for pre-need financing, which is available from a 12 month policy to a 60 month policy, with a minimal down payment. Family Service Counselors are ready to find the payment schedule that best fits your budget.
